Specialty from Barokah Cooperative - Indonesia!
This coffee has arrived from a cooperative in Sumatra with 320 members whom live on a farm at the foot of Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra. This mountain is one of the many volcanoes in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The volcanoes historic eruptions give the area a lush soil with a deep supply of fertile volcanic soil which is excellent for growing coffee.
The Barokah cooperative is trying to add to Indonesia's rich processing tradition by diversifying the coop's processing methods. The cooperative is managed by Triyono, who leads members in processing and roasting their own coffees. They have a fully outfitted roasting facility, including a cupping lab, next to the dry mill.
This coffee is the natural version and blew our minds when tasting it due to its vast complexity of different flavours. It's easy to drink with a great amount of sweetness and only a little bit of funk.
As a coffee roaster, we’ve roasted this bean light to bring out the most of its natural flavours. This specialty coffee has been roasted light to suit mainly filter style brew methods.
😋 Flavour Notes:
A complex coffee with flavours of maple syrup, lime and wine. The complexity extends to a large range of sweet and fruit notes with a crisp acidity.
✍️ Recipe:
