Burundi Decaf
Our single origin Burundi decaf!
The single origin Burundi Decaf is a specialty addition to our Swiss Water Decaf lineup. Crafted by the coffee roaster for a single decaf coffee that is rich with caramel and chocolate notes. A good option for espresso or filter with those that buy coffee online and in our retail store.
This coffee is from a collaboration between a group of farmers known as the Kalico and some importers. This collaboration gave rise to the Rotheca Project. It aims to allevaite poverty and promotes women in the coffee industry. The project is heavily community driven with strong initiatives to improve the quality of life for the locals through education, training, environmental protection, social infrastructure and a scholarship program for young girls.
If you consume coffee for pure pleasure rather than merely the caffeine fix we want to put something mind blowing in your mug! We pride ourselves on valuing the sensory experience of coffee over its pharmaceutical/caffeinated effects.
Swiss Water Decaf
All our decaf is Swiss Water Processed meaning that the caffeine is removed without the use of chemicals. The innovative process gently removes the caffeine with the use of pure water. It does this by immersing caffeinated green (raw) coffee in a solution of previously decaffeinated green coffee water, osmosis fairly selectively removes the caffeine. This gives us the end result of a decaffeinated coffee that tastes just as delicious as its caffeinated counterpart.
More information about the process can be found here: https://www.swisswater.com/our-process/
😋 Flavour Notes:
A rich coffee with chocolate and caramel notes with flavours of spiced apple crumble and a long chocolate honey cake aftertaste. Red apple skin acidity with a medium to full body.
✍️ Recipe:
Filter Brew Ratio: 1:15

This means that for every gram of ground coffee added into the filter there is 18 grams of hot water. If using a plunger/French press you can add two tablespoon’s of ground coffee (approximately 14-grams), mixed with 250ml of hot water. Still stuck?
